Court reform

Over the last few years, the government has increasingly reformed the court service in an attempt to reduce the burden on the public purse while following the ultimate policy of trying to make the civil courts to be self-funding.  We have seen the introduction of a number of fixed cost regimes and the reformation of our court service continued with proposals for extending those fixed costs regimes to other classes of claim.

We have also seen Briggs LJ complete his review into the creation of an online court and the recent announcement from the Ministry of Justice on their programme entitled Transforming our Justice System demonstrates that the government is serious in their radical reformation of the Courts.
